The “Business Manager” visa allows foreigners to engage in “management” or “management work” of a business in Japan.

Here, we will briefly explain the three types of people eligible to apply for a “Business Manager” visa.

First, this visa is generally referred to as a “Business Manager” visa. However, it is important to note that the activities foreigners engaged in in Japan with this visa can only be either “management” or “management work.” This visa does not allow for both “business management” and “management” work.

That said, the application requirements and procedures for both visas are basically the same.

The following three types of people are eligible to apply for this visa:

① Those starting “business management” work in Japan.
② Those joining an existing business in Japan and taking on “management management” work.
③ Those taking on the role of a person currently performing “management management” work in Japan.

Applicants for this visa must be engaged in business management or management work. If you are engaged in work other than management or administrative work on a daily basis in addition to business or administrative work, there is a very high possibility that your visa application will be denied. When writing your “Reason for Application” when applying for a visa, you must choose your wording very carefully.
