Q5. Can I serve as an external board member for multiple supervising organizations? Can I serve as an external auditor for multiple organizations? Also, can I serve as an external board member for Organization A and an external auditor for Organization B at the same time?
A5. You can serve as an external board member for multiple supervising organizations, as long as you meet the requirements and don’t have any disqualifications. The same applies to external auditors; you can serve for multiple supervising organizations as long as you meet the requirements and have no disqualifications.
However, a person who is already an external board member for one supervising organization cannot also serve as an external auditor for a different one.
Q6. Can someone who was previously a board member of an organization become an external board member or external auditor for that same organization?
A6. If five years or more have passed since they left their position as a board member, they can become an external board member or external auditor, as long as they meet the other requirements and have no disqualifications.
Q7. Can a board member or staff member of one supervising organization become an external board member or external auditor for another?
A7. For an external board member, it may be possible if the person was appointed with the intention of being an external board member before the supervising organization’s license application and is recognized as “an officer with specialized knowledge and experience regarding the proper execution and supervision of the supervision business.” However, a person who is already a board member or staff member of one supervising organization cannot become an external auditor for a different one.
