There are a variety of work-related visas (status of residence), but the “Business Manager Visa” differs from other visas in many ways.
To obtain a “Business Manager” visa (also known as a Business Manager Visa), which is necessary for foreigners to run and manage a company in Japan, the following clear conditions must be met. In addition to the conditions listed below, immigration bureaus will also rigorously review the business’s continuity, feasibility, and compliance with laws and regulations before deciding whether or not to grant the visa. Due to the rapid increase in paper companies in recent years, immigration bureau screening has become stricter every year. One of the characteristics of this visa is that the approval rate is lower than other visas.
①Securing an Independent Business Office
・A clearly separated office must be established within Japan.
・Virtual offices and properties that double as homes are generally not permitted.
②Investment of 5 million yen or more
・The applicant must personally invest. (Alternatively, this investment requirement is waived if the applicant employs two or more full-time employees residing in Japan.)
・The source of the investment, the process for raising funds, and the route of funds (submitting remittance records and bankbooks) must also be clearly stated.
③Business Continuity, Stability, and Appropriateness
・Proof that the business is substantial through documents such as a business plan, income and expenditure forecast, and contracts.
・Businesses that are expected to continue to be unprofitable or shell companies with no substance are not permitted.
④Activities as a Manager or Administrator
・Applicants must act as the company’s representative director, officer, or manager.
・Activities primarily involving on-site operations, such as those in restaurants, are not eligible.
(In addition to these, you will also need to submit many other related documents.)
