Technical Intern Training (Post-Entry Training)

Technical intern trainees are legally required to attend the following training courses before starting their practical training.

We can accept requests to be the instructor for training course (c) below (8 hours worth). An administrative scrivener who previously worked as a public school English teacher in Tokyo will provide an easy-to-understand lecture.

 Training Fee
Post-Entry Training (Technical Intern Trainees)48,000 yen for 8 hours of training (including tax, separate transportation fees)

(a) Japanese Language

Since instruction and communication at the technical training site are normally conducted in Japanese, the purpose of this component is to provide Japanese language education that enables trainees to perform their technical training effectively and safely. Additionally, because trainees will be living in Japan, they require a certain level of Japanese to smoothly carry out daily life, which forms the foundation of their training. Therefore, it is desirable for the post-entry training to help trainees reach a level where they will not be inconvenienced in their training or daily life.

(b) Knowledge Regarding General Life in Japan

To live in Japan for up to five years, trainees must abide by the country’s laws, regulations, social rules, and manners. These include various topics such as Japanese traffic rules (e.g., how to ride a bicycle), how to use public transportation, how to make international phone calls, how to shop, how to dispose of trash, how to use banks and post offices, how to prepare for natural disasters, and how to prevent infectious diseases. It is crucial to provide careful explanations, including local rules and how to find information, to ensure trainees are not troubled in their daily lives.

(c) Information on How to Respond When They Learn of Violations of Immigration or Labor Laws, and Other Information Necessary for the Legal Protection of Technical Intern Trainees

A: The lecture must include the following topics. During the lecture, make sure to use the relevant sections of the Technical Intern Trainee Handbook and public relations videos created by the Immigration Services Agency to provide easy-to-understand explanations.

  • Knowledge of technical intern training laws, immigration laws, and labor-related laws.
  • How to respond (reporting, consulting) when they learn that the implementing organization or supervising organization is in violation of technical intern training laws.
  • How to contact administrative bodies such as the Labor Standards Inspection Office, which handles reports and consultations regarding violations of labor standards laws (including matters related to the prohibition of disadvantageous treatment due to reporting).
  • Knowledge of the wage payment guarantee system for unpaid wages, the work-injury compensation system, and knowledge related to occupational safety and health and labor contracts.
  • Procedures for the lump-sum withdrawal payment from the public pension system and health insurance.
  • The prohibition of dismissal or other disadvantageous treatment based on marriage, pregnancy, or childbirth as stipulated by the Equal Employment Opportunity Act, as well as support systems for pregnancy (e.g., maternity benefits and childbirth and childcare lump-sum grants from health insurance).
  • Other topics, such as how to respond when they must transfer to another employer for unavoidable reasons, procedures for switching unemployment and health insurance, and immigration law procedures.
  • Contact information for the Organization for Technical Intern Training and the supervising organization’s consultation service.

* A “person with specialized knowledge” for providing information on “legal protection” is someone who is recognized as having sufficient knowledge of technical intern training laws, immigration laws, labor-related laws, and other information necessary for the legal protection of technical intern trainees.

* Unlike single-enterprise technical intern training, for organization-supervised technical intern training, it is required that an external instructor who is not an employee of the applicant (implementing organization) or the supervising organization, but has sufficient knowledge of technical intern training laws, immigration laws, labor-related laws, and other information necessary for the legal protection of technical intern trainees, provides the lecture. This is to ensure the lecture is delivered more appropriately.
